Who are we?

 

The Marquess of Northampton owns and manages Estates in Northamptonshire and Warwickshire (‘The Estate’) and trades as Compton Estates and Castle Ashby Farms.   

 

This privacy policy explains how we use any personal information we collect about you when you use this website or when contacting us by email or phone. We collect information about you when apply to occupy or use land or property on the Estate, apply for a job or purchase goods or services from us.

 

 

Information we collect about you

 

Tenancy

 

We will ask for your personal and contact information when you apply to occupy or use land or property on the Estate including your name, email address, telephone number, mobile number, current address, age, family details, and your employment status. This information is held for a period of three (3) months and then securely deleted.

 

When you become one of our tenants or occupiers, we will hold your data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes of our contract with you and for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting or reporting requirements.

 

At the end of the tenancy or occupation period, your data will be deleted or anonymised (so that it can no longer be associated with you) for historical or archiving reasons.   

 

We only share necessary information about you with our approved contractors, agents and professional advisors. In order to fulfil any legal requirements, we will share your information with third parties where we have a statutory obligation to do so, which may include fraud prevention agencies.

 

Personal information when you purchase goods from us

 

If you have given us permission to do so, we will occasionally send you information about purchasing goods from us e.g. a Beef box from Castle Ashby Farms. If you no longer wish to be contacted please tell us and we will remove you from our list.  

 

Employment

 

In order to fulfil our employment contract with you, we will share your information with necessary employees, our payroll and pensions administrators. We will share your personal information with third parties where we have a statutory obligation to do so, for example, HMRC.

 

At the end of your employment with us, your details will be securely deleted once the statutory time requirement has passed.

 

Shooting, Fishing and Log Sales

 

Where we request contractual information or information required for health and safety or insurance purposes, we will hold your information in line with current GDPR legislation.

 

 

General

 

We will share information where we believe that the disclosure is:

 

  • Required by law, or in order to comply with judicial proceedings, court orders or regulatory proceedings or legal and fraud prevention.

  • Necessary to protect the safety of our employer, employees, yourself, our property or the public.

  • Necessary for the prevention or detection of crime, including exchanging information with other Estates or organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction

  • Where we require professional advice and support regarding Estate Management.

  • Undertaking compliance requirements.

  • Meeting our obligations under health and safety and other legislation.

  • Food requirements for Beef boxes (potential health data).
