ESTATE
INTRODUCTION
The Castle Ashby Estate contains over 10,500 acres of farmland and forestry alongside residential and commercial properties. There are formal gardens open to the public as well as fishing lakes, parkland and various retail facilities.
With over 53 miles (86km) of footpaths and bridleways, the Estate also has several areas where visitors are welcome, including: 25 acres of Gardens and an Arboretum including a menagerie with animals, see
Other events and facilities are available subject to negotiation including sporting rights, event sites and receptions, details of which are available from the Estate Office.
A number of prehistoric and Roman settlement sites have been discovered within the Estate, the majority on the higher Boulder Clay areas. As well as the existing village of Castle Ashby there is also the medieval hamlet of Chadstone.
